Installed Modern Warfare 3 through Steam. Found there is no PS3 controller support. I do not have a mouse and I dislike playing with trackpad and keyboard. Tried controllermate, didn't work. Any fixes?

The issue seems to be with controllermate. PS3 controller is plugged into the laptop and is shown on the list of devices but there is no more interaction past that. Please help! I spent £30 on this game and I can't even play it!
