Destiny - Blacksmith Armor Shader Pre-Order Troubles

So I have no idea what I'm supposed to do in this particular situation I'm in.

To start, I picked up my copy of Destiny for the Xbox 360 at Game Stop on midnight release. I also at that time pre-ordered a copy of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, thus earning me the Blacksmith Armor Shader pre-order bonus. I used the code with no trouble and redeemed my in game item no problem and have used it without issue on the 360. Not long after, I managed to finally attain an Xbox One, and about a week ago I took my physical copy of Destiny back to Game Stop to trade in towards purchasing the digital copy of the game for the 360, so as to purchase for free a copy of Destiny for my Xbox One.

After doing so, I went in game on my Xbox One copy, only to find that my Blacksmith Shader, though still in my item inventory, was unable to be selected, proclaiming I needed to "Re-Purchase from the Marketplace". I called Game Stop and asked for help from the store manager, only to be told that the Xbox One copy needed it's own separate code for the shader, something I was never informed of at midnight release, nor made aware of from any website I went to that proclaimed that all in game items from the 360 would carry over cross-generation to the Xbox One version and back. Upon asking if I could receive assistance with this, since I do still have the pre-order for CoD, now fully paid off and for the Xbox One, I was told that I "needed to contact Bungie since they're the developers". I did so, only to be met with Bungie support proclaiming "This is a matter that only the retailer can resolve as we have no say in this situation". Frustrated and rightfully so, I contacted Xbox support, only to be told that only Bungie, Game Stop, or Activision can help me. They gave me the support number for Game Stop's corporate support, and all they had to say on the matter was that since it was a cross-generation issue, only Xbox could assist me. After being called by a representative from Xbox support and asking them for help again, they said firmly that only Activision could help.

I really don't understand what all of the fuss is or why literally every single support place has rather rudely given me the run-about when all I'm asking for is help in this situation. I also REALLY don't understand why there's so much issue about making something that was a pre-order bonus, rightfully obtained yet glitching on one console when the item DOES appear in both versions, work again when the fact that I redeemed the code on my account should be more than enough to allow access on both versions of the exact same game in the first place.

So please, is there any way that I can FINALLY get some help with this down-right stupid situation?
