I got perm banned from Bo2 on Xbox360 last night. This came as a complete surprise, because I have never violated a single one of the security policies.
- I have no microphone. I cannot say offensive things.
- I have literally never sent a message using xbox live.
- I have xbox arcade, meaning no hard drive. I cannot hack.
- I have never even gotten first place in a live match. If I were cheating, I would be pretty terrible at it.
I'm the most casual gamer ever, so I'm really confused why I got banned. I just want to play Black Ops 2! I paid $60 for the game.
I'm trying to brainstorm reasons why my account could be banned, and here is what I came up with:
- Leaving lobbies too frequently to get maps I want. Is this cause for a perm ban?
- Recently I somehow got placed into a lobby with a DLC map that I did not have, but I got a notice simply saying I could not play the map. I don't know why this happened but maybe I somehow got lumped into a group of hackers?
- Some guy messaged me on xbox live saying "you f**ckin suck" so maybe he reported me?
- Using controllers from my roommates xbox. Could this trigger modded controller alarms?
I'm seriously pissed, because I paid for this game and it's the only one I ever play on my xbox. I am the most casual of gamers. Literally, I have no idea why I was banned. I went through the security policy point by point, and have never even come close to violating any of them. I am definitely a victim of out-of-control machine learning algorithms.
